Maverick Bollywood film maker Ram Gopal Varma has come in for some sharp criticism from netizens for making sexist comment against actress-turned-Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Angoorlata Deka.
A day after RGV tweeted that: "If MLA can look like this, Achche din aagaye hai..Thank you Angoorlataji, Thank you Modiji..1st time I love politics," netizens lashed out at him under the hashtag #SaySorryRGV which is now trending on the twitter.

Apparently realising that his comments have evoked sharp criticism from netizens, RGV tweeted again on Wednesday: “With regards to my comment on Angoorlataji, I was just paying a compliment to her. Since most MLA's don't look good, it was such a change.”
He further said: “My every compliment is taken as negative comment...I don't know if it's the lack of their English knowledge or their dumbness quotient.”
