Nayeem Naidu or Nara Naidu?

Nayeem Naidu or Nara Naidu?

The YSR Congress party on Wednesday accused Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of encouraging criminals and extortionists in politics.

Expressing concern increasing criminalisation of politics, party MLA G Srikanth Reddy said it was because of Naidu that people like Nayeem were gaining control over politics.

“Naidu has become an inspiration for criminals and rowdy-sheeters as he was the one who had encouraged gangsters like Nayeem. There are many more Nayeems in the making,” he alleged.

He said one can call the chief minister as “Nayeem Chandrababu Naidu” instead of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, as the latter was influencing criminals and rowdy-sheeters in the party.

“Because of his support, his own party MLAs are indulging in criminal and corrupt practices,” he alleged.

Srikanth Reedy pointed out that TDP MLA from Venkatagiri in Nellore district Ramakrishna was caught red-handed while threatening a railway contractor and demanding money.

“The MLA has not responded on this. Obviously, Naidu is also getting his due share from every corrupt person in the government mechanism. That could be the reason why Naidu is not talking about Ramakrishna though he was caught red-handed,” he said.

“Naidu always talks of inter-linking of rivers, but in practice, he’s executing inter-linking of corruption across different channels of government administration and mechanism,” the YSRC leader added.
