Narakasura Vadha, A Big Success

The “Narakasura Vadha” programme organized by the YSR Congress party, asking the people to burn effigies of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, evoked a very good response on the first day on Thursday.

Party’s deputy floor leader Jyothula Nehru claimed that the dharna programme to mount pressure on TDP government to implement total waiver of agriculture and DWACRA loans was a grand success.

“Over 80 per cent of the villages across the 13 districts of the state have observed the dharna and symbolically burnt the effigies of Chief Minister for going back on his poll promises and the agitation will continue for the next two days in an intensified manner,” Nehru said.

He said the Naidu government had scaled down the figure drastically and is trying to celebrate the event of keeping up its promise of waiving loans while the figures speak that they were manipulated.

“While there are 83 lakh eligible farmers, TDP claiming that 43 lakh farmers would benefit from the scheme shows that it has diluted the figure by half,” he said.

He took objection to some of the TDP ministers using abusive language against Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

“The two ministers in question should remember their humble beginnings and the backdoor methods employed while our leader has bravely faced the cases which are still in the court. The two leaders jumping to conclusions makes no sense that too when they have a history of deceit,” he said
