Naidu's Deputy Backs Jagan, Pawan!

Naidu's Deputy Backs Jagan, Pawan!

Even as Telugu Desam Party supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been incurring the wrath of the Opposition, particularly YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan against land acquisition for construction of the new capital city of Amaravati, Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy on Thurday made a startling observation that there was no need of forcibly taking over land from the farmers.

Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat here on Thursday, Krishna Murthy, who also holds Revenue portfolio, said much to the chagrin of Naidu that Pawan Kalyan’s comments were in favour of farmers and not against the government.

He opined that there was no need of taking over the lands forcibly from the farmers, who should voluntarily come forward for the cause.

“The government can take the land if the farmers and land owners come forward without any pressure”, he remarked.

However, Krishnamurthy found fault with Jagan for organizing protests at which even children were laughing.

When asked on the efforts of the government to implement Land Acquisition Act, Krishnamurthy said there was no need of acquiring lands and the notification was part of the governance.
