It is an open secret that many TDP legislators thrive on the illegal sand mining. Therefore, when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced at his cabinet meeting that henceforth, sand would be given away free of cost, they were taken aback.
In a state of shock, they did not know how to respond to this decision. As many as 30 legislators are said to be worried as to the impact this decision is going to have on their activities.
Since this decision will possibly result in poor quality of sand being supplied, these legislators are now said to be thinking of stocking pure quality sand and selling it in the black market.
