With Naidu away in Davos, the state government has quietly been lapping up land from the farmers. Since the time Naidu has left for Davos, consent letters from farmers for close to 5000 acres has been obtained taking the total land acquired by the government to nearly 7000 acres.
It now appears to be a brilliant move by Naidu to be away from the State so that there is no focus on the ‘land pooling’ process.
The government has a target of 10000 acres by the end of this month and Naidu after coming back from Davos is conveniently leaving for a tour of Telangana on Feb 11.
The entire media attention would naturally be on his T-trip by the end of which the government’s target of nearly 38000 acres would have been reached.
The TRS would be walking into Naidu’s trap by creating obstacles to Naidu’s trip and naturally the people of Andhra Pradesh will hate them for it.
The trip will once again turn into a Telangana-Seemandhra feud and the voice of the farmers will be lost in the din with all mainstream dailies except for ‘Sakshi’ conveniently ignoring the plight of the farmers for obvious reasons.
