Naidu In Hurry To Complete Amaravati Buildings!

Having wasted more than one year on finalising the designs of the major buildings for Amaravati, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu now appears to be keen on completing the infrastructure at the earliest.

Naidu, who had almost finalised the London-based architecture company Foster and Associates, in coordination with Mumbai-based architect Hafeez Contractor, to design the buildings, set the deadline of October 2018 for the completion of the assembly, high court, secretariat and other official buildings. Simultaneously, he has already commenced the process for laying of four-lane roads in Amaravati.

At the same time, the Chief Minister hopes that six national and international reputed education institutions would start their branches in Amaravati capital city.

One five star, one four star and four three star hotels would come up in the city. India’s biggest convention centre also would be set up in the capital.

The Stadium Arena Company has come forwarded to start sports management school. Besides, Shilparamam, library, museum would also be set up, he revealed. He asked the officials to prepare sports city plan for the successful conducting of 2019 national games.

Apparently, Naidu wants to give some concrete look to the capital by the time he goes to next elections. If the works remain a non-starter, he is sure to lose the elections. At the same time, he is also in a hurry to complete at least 70 per cent of the Polavaram project works.

“Amaravati and Polavaram are very crucial for Naidu to seek the mandate from the people in the next elections,” sources said.
