Naidu In A 'Spot Of Bother'

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu finds himself in a 'spot of bother' over the Pattiseema project.

He has been asked by the Union government to report to Delhi within a week so that all outstanding issues regarding the project could be resolved.

Principally, AP’s best friend Telangana and Odisha have raised objections to Pattiseema. Once Polavaram was declared a national project, the AP CM should have strictly adhered to the design and utilization of funds of the project.

However, he had deviated from the original design and made Pattiseema a part of Polavaram apart from claiming reimbursement for the same.

Telangana contends that Pattiseema is an illegal project the Centre is also unhappy at the diversion of funds to Pattiseema which it feels is not a project at all.

“Pattiseema has no storage capacity at all. How can it be called a project?” is the primary doubt raised by the Centre. Naidu will clearly be hard pressed to come up with reasonable explanations for his actions.
