Naidu Has No Interest In Seema Development?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu hails from Rayalaseema district of Chittoor, but he seems to have little concern for the development of the region as he is focussing only on Krishna and Guntur districts, which are dominated by his Kamma community.

It was evident once again from his statement on Friday. Expressing concern over abnormal increase in land and rental values in and around Vijayawada and Guntur, the TDP president warned that if the situation continued for some more days, there was every possibility that investors would shift their focus to Rayalaseema, where land is cheaper.

“Already, several industrialists are scared of putting their money in the new capital region because the land rates are skyrocketing. They have turned their attention to other States, including Telangana. If the land prices and rental values continue to be high in Vijayawada and Guntur, the investors would shift to Rayalaseema,” he said.

One wonders what is wrong in investors shifting to Rayalaseema, which is highly underdeveloped.

It also has a lot of resources which should be explored. Why should the development be centred only around new capital? It clearly shows the lopsided policies of the Naidu government.

Definitely, such statements will send wrong messages to the people of Rayalaseema who are agitating against ill-treatment.
