Sometimes, what is there in our mind comes out of the mouth inadvertently. People have lots of desires in their heart, but when they know that it is impossible to fulfil those desires, they say they have no interest in them.
That seems to be perfectly applicable to Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Interacting with students after presenting Abdul Kalam Meritorious Awards to bright students at Vijayawada, Naidu said he absolutely had no interest in becoming Prime Minister in future.
“I am content with what I am as the chief minister and my only desire to keep Andhra Pradesh on the top position in development,” he said.
Well, his statement clearly indicates Naidu, in heart of his hearts, has the desire to become the Prime Minister, but he knows he cannot become PM in his lifetime.
In fact, he also knows that he could become the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh again taking advantage of the circumstances post-bifurcation. So, dreaming of the PM chair is nothing but a mirage. So, it is better talk in a philosophical tone and say he will reject the PM post, if he is given!
In the past, too, Naidu used to claim (in fact, he does it even now) that he had the chance to become the Prime Minister way back in 1997, but he had rejected it as his main focus was on developing Andhra Pradesh. So, he claimed that he had proposed the name of I K Gujral as the Prime Minister.
Well, if there are people who can listen to his claims, he can put flowers in their ears for years!
