Naidu Defends Pavan Comments!

The other day, power star and Jana Sena party president Pavan Kalyan made some critical comments against Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for accepting the special financial package from the Centre which has no legal sanctity, in lieu of the special category status to AP.

“What is the point in announcing the package which has no cabinet approval? When it takes two and a half years to announce a special package, how many years it would take to grant Cabinet approval for the package? I wonder how Naidu accepted the package,” Pavan commented.

Normally, the TDP president should have got offended with these comments, at a time when he is facing an embarrassing situation for accepting the package. But surprisingly, Naidu defended Pavan’s comments.

“I don’t see anything wrong in what Pavan said. It is nearly two months since the Centre announced special financial package to the state. We have accepted it because there was no alternative and we cannot reject it. But so far, there is no cabinet approval for the same. What is the point if the money comes after two years?” Naidu asked, while interacting with the cabinet colleagues.

He said he would bring pressure on the centre to grant cabinet approval for the package at the earliest and asked his party MPs to pursue the matter. He also found fault with the Centre in dodging on releasing the funds through Nabard for the Polavaram project.
