Naidu asks Nani not to quit travel business!

The decision of Telugu Desam Party MP from Vijayawada Kesineni Nani to wind up his Kesineni Travels, the most popular private bus service in South India, has ended up in a high drama with the intervention of TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Nani, who leaked the news about winding up his travels business to some media houses, called for a press conference in Vijayawada in the evening to announce the decision.

However, as expected, he received a phone call from the Chief Minister’s Office stating that Naidu wanted the press meet to be cancelled and see him immediately. Accordingly, Nani called off the press meet and went to Velagapudi to meet Naidu.

Nani wanted to convey to the chief minister that he was upset with the latter’s order to tender apology to transport commissioner Balasubrahmanyam.

Already, he had a grouse against the commissioner who, he felt, had been creating troubles for him. Since Nani felt humiliated with incident, he was trying to bring pressure on Naidu to shift Balasubrahmanyam.

That is why, he sought to blackmail the chief minister saying he would close down the transport business which is fetching crores of rupees revenue in the form of tax to the government!
