Naidu Angry With Galla Jayadev; Why?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday fumed at his party MP from Guntur and industrialist Galla Jayadev and asked him to get out of the Andhra Pradesh Olympics Association.

Reason: Andhra Pradesh lost the opportunity to host the forthcoming national games in 2018 because of the groupism in AP Olympics Association.

There are two groups in the association – one led by Galla Jayadev and the other by Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh.

Both the MPs have been indulging in group politics for quite some trying to dominate each other.

Because of this groupism, the AP Sports Authority could not decide on finalizing the recognition of the AP Olympics Association and therefore, could not recommend either group to the Indian Olympics Association and could not bid for hosting the national games.

The infighting was brought to the notice of the chief minister, who asked both the MPs to keep away from the Olympics Association.

While Ramesh opted out of the association, Jayadev continued there. However, since the IOA had already acknowledged Ramesh group, it did not accept Jayadev group.

As a result, AP had to be eliminated from the race in hosting the national games.

Naturally, this made Naidu angry. He reportedly called Jayadev and pulled him up for failing to uphold the prestige of AP in hosting the national games. He asked him to keep out of sports bodies, leaving them to the professionals.
