YSR Congress party leader M V Mysoora Reddy held the AP government responsible for not getting special status to the State.
Speaking to the media at party office here on Sunday, Mysoora Reddy demanded that the Chandrababu Naidu government convene an all-party meeting on the issue.
He said people have been migrating from the villages as they were unable to face drought situation in the State.
“It is unfortunate that the condition of drought-affected people of the Rayalaseema region is very serious and they were migrating to other States,” he added.
He further alleged that farmers were not getting MSP for their products and drinking water has become very scarce. Only 25 per cent paddy has been purchased by the government agencies.
Mysoora Reddy alleged that the State government was not serious about tackling the grim situation in the State.
Criticizing the inertia in the TDP government, he said the State government was not sending reports properly to the Union government.
In protest against the negligent attitude of the TDP government, memorandums would be submitted to the government from mandal level on May 4 and 5. Even then the government failed to respond, an action plan would be chalked out, he warned.
