My Home Chief Wanted To Buy TV9!

It is now official. Telangana real estate tycoon and My Home Group chairman Jupalli Rameshwar Rao wanted to buy popular Telugu television channel TV9, but the deal did not work out.

Rao disclosed it in a television interview to Andhra Jyothy managing director V Radhakrishna on Sunday. He said there was a time when he wanted to enter media industry.

“Instead of starting a new media house, we wanted to buy an existing one. We have almost closed the deal with an established media channel, but somehow, it did not work out. It is not the question of money, but somehow I realised that running a media house is a nuisance,” Rao told the RJ.

The My Home chairman also got a number of offers to enter politics.

“Even Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu also invited me into the party and offered to give me ticket. But I was not interested. Now that I have become a spiritual man, I cannot even think of it,” he said.
