Telangana Rasthra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might have got a lot of appreciation for daring to eliminate dreaded Maoist-turned-gangster Mohd Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem in a police encounter, but there are said to be more such Nayeems within his party, who have been acting like mafia leaders in their respective districts.
According to reports, a former Congress leader with Naxalite background from Warangal who had jumped into the TRS along with his wife during the 2014 elections is said to be no less dreaded than Nayeem.
He is known for extortions from businessmen, real estate dealers and even local political leaders; and there is none who can question his hegemony in the district.
Not a single business activity or construction will take place without the knowledge of this gangster-turned-politician who demands his cut in all the money-making activities.
Recently, an audio tape exposing his threatening of a political leader for not parting with his money surfaced in the district (on the lines of a similar audio tape with Nayeem’s voice). Just like Nayeem, this gangster also used foul language against the leader for not paying him hafta.
In several other districts of northern Telangana, several TRS leaders have been indulging in extortions with the support of police officials. However, KCR has not reacted to any of these reports so far..
