Mekapati Comes To Jagan's Rescue!

Nellore MP and YSR Congress Parliamentary Party leader Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy has not been very active in the party for quite some time.

In the past, he made some critical comments against party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, but subsequently, he has been keeping quiet.

On Monday, however, Mekapati came to the rescue of Jagan, who has been under attack from the Telugu Desam Party leaders for targeting their general secretary Nara Lokesh Naidu stating that he had humiliated Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa at the party meeting in K L University.

In fact, TDP legislator Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy alleged that when Mekapati had met Jagan in Chanchalguda prison, the latter asked Mekapati to address him as sir.

Mekapati took strong exception to Somireddy’s allegation.

“This is not only false, but also a very cheap attempt to bail Nara Lokesh out from his ill-treatment of deputy chief minister Chinna Rajappa,” he said.

He wondered who Somireddy was trying to please by making such statements.

“It is clear that he wants to get into the good books of his party leadership by making such statements," Mekapati said.

The TDP was desperately trying to wriggle out of the controversy created by Lokesh by making Chinna Rajappa stand up and answer the questions posed by him.
