What is the reason for Andhra Jyothy doing a sudden flash survey on the prospects of Telugu Desam Party if elections are held at present?
This is the doubt being expressed by people in the social media circles. Assuming that Andhra Jyothy managing director V Radhakrishna wanted to do a mid-term appraisal of the Chandrababu Naidu government, he should have gone in for a comprehensive survey with a detailed questionnaire on Naidu’s performance. Otherwise, there is no reason why such a survey which does not have any sound rationale has to be done now, as it would only lack credibility.
Going by the talk doing rounds in the TDP circles, TDP general secretary Lokesh is said to be behind this flash survey.
Sources said Radhakrishna had met Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh a couple of days before the survey was done and indicated to him about the growing resentment among the people on account of denial of special category status and also demonetisation.
It is learnt Lokesh had suggested that Andhra Jyothy does a survey that would project Naidu and the TDP government in good light so that it would divert the people’s attention. And Lokesh himself entrusted the task to some of his social media team members to do the survey and gave the report to Andhra Jyothy.
