That the Congress leaders have not learnt any lessons from a series of debacles in the elections and that they continue to indulge in infighting was once again proved with regard to Telangana Congress party.
The latest slogan that has been doing rounds in the Telangana Congress party is: “Ponnala Hatao, Congress Bachao.”
Instead of fighting against TRS government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Congress leaders are busy in campaigning against Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah, who has apparently failed to rejuvenate the party cadre.
On Tuesday, senior Congress leader and former minister Dr P Shankar Rao lambasted Ponnala for failing to secure victory in the Secunderabad Cantonment elections. He said unless Ponnala is sacked, there is no life to the party in Telangana.
Dr Shankar Rao pointed out that his party fared badly in Secunderabad Cantonment elections because of lack of leadership abilities.
He directly attributed the worst defeat of recently held general elections to Ponnala. He expressed his interest to become TPCC chief replacing Ponnala.
