IT minister K T Rama Rao, the only son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has set a 'new trend' in encouraging defections from other parties.
Representative of local bodies such as MPTCs, ZPTCs etc belonging to Opposition parties TDP, YSRCP from Hyderabad surrounding districts joined TRS on Monday in the presence of KTR.
Normally, such political programmes are held in party offices. However, KTR, conducted this programme at his official minister's chamber in Secretariat.
KTR invited leaders of other parties into TRS fold by offering TRS khanduvas in Secretariat.
IAS officers, principal secretaries, secretaries of various departments including Secretariat staff and visitors were surprised and shocked to see the CM's son himself resorting to blatant violation of norms in broad daylight but none had the courage to question him since he was CM's son and a minister by himself.
As per norms, the Secretariat premises should be used only for government administrative purposes. But ruling TRS has turned Secretariat into TRS party office by holding such political programmes.
