TRS chief and Telangana CM KCR's son K T Rama Rao, who is already the minister for IT, pachayatraj and rural development in KCR's cabinet, is all set to get one more promotion as minister for municipal administration.
KCR made a public announcement in this regard while addressing the TRS party's huge public meeting for GHMC polls at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, on Saturday evening.
KCR said, "My son KTR, who is IT minister took up the party's campaigning responsibility for GHMC elections and managed single-handedly. He toured nook and corner of the city. Now he became expert in municipal administration. The portfolio of municipal administration is with me now. After GHMC elections, I will handover this portfolio to KTR."
There is already a big debate going on in political and party circles over KTR stepping to KCR's shoes as CM, if TRS wins 2019 Assembly elections and the fresh announcement by KCR, that too in a public meeting is being viewed in this direction.
While one set of party leaders supporting irrigation minister T Harish Rao, who is also nephew of KCR, and already upset for sidelining him in GHMC elections, are shocked over KTR getting one more promotion in cabinet.
However, one thing is sure to happen after GHMC elections. That is KCR will take up reshuffle of his cabinet. It remains to be seen who will be sacked and who will get important portfolios, which is bound to create political ripples in days to come.
