Kodela For Hyd, Yanamala For Vizag

There seems to be a difference of opinion among the ruling Telugu Desam Party leaders on holding the Assembly sessions in the coming years.

Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly Kodela Siva Prasad on Friday said that the monsoon session of the Assembly will be held in Hyderabad in September.

He said as both the Houses would be convened simultaneously, Hyderabad was the best choice and the session cannot be held in any part of the State, Kodela stated.

However, Minister for Finance and Legislative Affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the budget session of the State Assembly would be held in the State, possibly in the port city of Visakhapatnam.

"Arrangements are being made to hold the session in our own State and possibly in Vizag," he added.

The campus of Andhra University was one option for the Assembly meet and even the Municipal Council Hall is also being considered for the purpose.

The other TDP leaders, too, are said to be of divided opinion on the venue for Assembly sessions. There has been no response from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu so far.
