KCR Scared Of Facing GHMC Polls?

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao appears to be scared of facing the elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, since it would upset the TRS applecart if the party does fare well in the elections.

KCR on Friday held a crucial meeting with his Cabinet colleagues on Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections and development of Hyderabad.

Deputy Chief Ministers Mahamood Ali, Kadiam Srihari, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, T. Padma Rao Goud and Tummala Nageswara Rao attended the meeting that dealt with the GHMC elections.

According to informed sources, the Chief Minister, who took stock of his 10-month rule after State bifurcation, also shared views on people’s response on welfare schemes and implementation of various development programs.

The meeting assumes importance as the High Court asked the State government to come up with suitable date for conducting elections to the GHMC.

It may be noted that the TRS government pleaded in the court seeking more time to conduct municipal polls as the work of delimitation of constituencies was on. However, the court declined to offer more time and directed it to prepare arrangements to conduct the GHMC elections avoiding further delay.
