Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumanth Rao on Friday alleged that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was more interested in encouraging defections from other parties into the TRS, rather than focusing on development of the State.
Referring to five Congress MLCs who recently joined the TRS, Hanumantha Rao said that the political defections were not in the interest of Telangana.
“KCR appears more interested in encouraging defection from opposition parties, rather than bringing pressure on the Centre in securing new projects to the State,” he said.
The Congress MP said that all leaders, irrespective of their political affiliation, should focus on the development of the new State.
He said while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandhrababu Naidu was utilising his clout to get more sops for his State, KCR was still busy in local politics.
He demanded that an all-party MPs delegation should be sent to the Centre seeking more railway projects for Telangana.
