Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is slowly making himself a 'free bird'. KCR has been leaving all the major departments held by him one by one and handing over them to his ministers.
After handing over municipal administration department to his son KTR, the CM transferred Scheduled Castes Welfare Department and Cooperation Deapartment to power minister Jagadish Reddy.
KCR is now planning to transfer Information and Public Relations Department to irrigation minister T Harish Rao, which means Harish Rao will deal with media and publicity issues of Telangana government.
This is because KCR is facing severe criticism of not attending to CM duties regularly at Secretariat by confining either to his farmhouse or camp office in Begumpet. With this the pendency of files has been mounting each passing day. Since May, 2015, KCR had not visited Secretariat even 10 times.
To avoid pendency of files, KCR is planning to allot all the departments held by him to his ministers and he will interfere in these departments only if the situation warrants.
By doing so, KCR wants to remain as a free bird leaving enough time to deal with political issues and how to tackle Opposition parties.
