KCR Inching Towards NDA?

It looks like Telangana Rashtra Samithi is gradually inching towards National Democratic Alliance, which was evident from the way chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao came out openly in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the assembly on Friday.

KCR made an official statement, for the first time, expressing his “wholehearted” support to Modi’s decision on demonetisation, stating that the Prime Minister had taken the decision in the interest of the nation.

“We wholeheartedly support this initiative taken for eliminating black money, preventing counterfeit currency, eradicating political corruption, tackling terrorism and extremism and thereby building a corruption free India,” he said.

He also wanted that Modi should take more measures to eliminate all forms of black money, including black money held in the form of diamonds, gold, shares and foreign currency and the black money generation through crony capitalism.

“Flow of black money into the country through money laundering from British Virgin Islands, Mauritius, Singapore should be regulated effectively,” he said.

By openly lauding Modi, KCR has given enough indications that the TRS is backing the NDA government. It is only a matter of time that it joins the alliance, say analysts.
