KCR Dangles Cabinet Expansion Carrot

Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrashekar Rao has once again started dangling the carrot of cabinet expansion before his party MLAs before the growing discontent among them erupts into large scale dissidence.

KCR on Friday began the exercise of pacifying the MLAs by eliciting their opinions on cabinet expansion, though he has kept close to his chest the names of those he is planning to induct in his ministry in the proposed expansion of the cabinet.

Though KCR had already made up his mind as to who should be the new entrants into his cabinet, he seem to have commenced the so-called opinion gathering by discussing with party MLAs and MLCs as a formality and thus drive the impression among the TRS cadre that he was astutely following a democratic process.

Though KCR had planned to expand his 12-member team some time or other, the unabated onslaught of the Opposition, especially Telugu Desam and Congress, holding the TRS Government of failure to tackle and resolve crucial issues plaguing the state and people, seem to have forced the Chief Minister to consider the urgent need to expand his ministry at the earliest.

With no representation of some districts like Khammam and Mahabubnagar in the ministry the Chief Minister seemed to be over-burdened as he is forced to hold some key subjects like municipal, electricity, welfare etc. Moreover there is no representation for woman too in the team.

It is also reliably learnt that the Chief Minister seem to be not happy with some his present ministers following a secret appraisal regarding their performance. However he seems to be undecided whether to sack them or clip their wings by changing their present portfolios.
