KCR Asks Rs 5,000 Cr, Gets Rs 25 Cr!

The cash crunch has hit the entire country so badly that even the Reserve Bank of India has thrown up its hands in meeting the demands of the states in supplying sufficient cash to banks to make it available for the common man.

Telangana government has asked the Centre to see that the RBI supplied new currency of at least Rs 5000 Cr to the banks so that they would release the amount to people through withdrawals.

However, the RBI released just Rs 25 crore to Telangana and expressed its helplessness. This amount is not sufficient even to pay pensions to the old people, leave alone salaries to the employees.

Even as November is coming to an end, the KCR government is very much concerned about payments to government servants, pensioners besides Aasra pensioners on December 1. It hopes RBI will issue additional new currency to Telangana in one or two days.

According to official figures, people of Telangana had deposited Rs 35,000 crore in banks post demonetisation, but they could not get even half of the amount.
