For the past few days, there have been reports doing rounds in the social media and also in the media circles that former Union Minister in the UPA government and presently, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Daggubati Purandeswari would join the YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
The reports said YSRC legislator and actor R K Roja had met Purandeswari and convinced her to join the YSRC.
But now, Purandeshwari has flatly denied the reports. What is more, she expressed view that such reports of her joining the YSRC are humiliating to her. “It is rather sad that the social media is behaving rather irresponsibly.
The news that I am shifting party is humiliating to me,” she said in her posting in the social media.
“With due respect to all and with no intention to hurt anybody’s sentiments, I would categorically like to state that I would continue in BJP. And if such situation (of quitting the BJP) arises, then, I would rather retire from politics. I, just like my father and husband, would lead a public life with values,” Purandeswari asserted.
Well, shifting loyalties to other party or not is the personal decision of Purandeswari. But what is there for her feel so much humiliated, if the reports said she would be joining YSRC?
