Vijayawada (East) MLA Mohammad Jaleel Khan, who defected from the YSR Congress party into the Telugu Desam Party a couple of years ago, is known for his silly statements but that get him publicity for good or bad.
On Tuesday, Jaleel Khan declared that he was ready to contest against power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan in the next assembly elections, if given an opportunity by the party high command. “And you are going to see that I will win the seat over Pawan Kalyan even with a meagre margin of 10 votes,” he said.
Khan said he was never afraid of elections and had never tasted defeat. “That is my credibility among the people,” he said.
The defected MLA was all praise for TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his brilliant ideas to develop the state.“Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi is no match to Naidu in administrative capabilities,” he said.
To a question, Jaleel Khan said he was not expecting any berth in the state cabinet which is likely to be expanded shortly. “In the present circumstances, it is better to be an MLA than a minister,” he opined.
