When the Congress-led UPA government was in power, senior leader and former union minister S Jaipal Reddy had never talked about Telangana movement or separate Telangana formation.
But now two years after the Telangana state was created, Jaipal Reddy has started talking about the role of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao in the Telangana movement.
This is now being questioned by the TRS leaders. Expressing surprise over the allegations made by Jaipal Reddy against Telangana movement and KCR, government chief whip Koppula Eshwar and council whip Bodakunti Venkateshwarlu deplored that Jaipal Reddy was speaking like a street leader unmindful of his political stature.
They said the Congress leaders were raising irrelevant issues as they have nothing to talk about welfare and development programs in the State.
They asked Jaipal Reddy whether he ever discussed with AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi on Telangana issue and wondered as to why he was speaking about Telangana movement now even as the separate State came into being 33 months ago.
They said while the entire nation was praising Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his thought provoking unique programs for welfare of people and development of the infant State, the panic-stricken Congress leaders were talking rubbish fearing they would not even save their deposits in the ensuing 2019 elections.
They also deplored that TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram was speaking ill of the State government by joining hands with the power-hungry Congress and TDP leaders.
