At last wisdom seems to have dawned upon YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. He has decided to shift his party headquarters to Mangalagiri and be available there for the people most of the time.
All these days, he continues to operate his party from his Lotus Pond residence-cum-office in Hyderabad, while the other major political parties including the TDP, the Congress and the Andhra BJP shifted their headquarters to Vijaywada or Guntur or Amaravati region.
Though there was grumbling from the party leaders who have to come all the way from different parts of Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad to attend meetings, Jagan did not bother about it. They were of the view that since YSR Congress party has virtually no existence in Telangana and a powerful opposition in Andhra, it has to shift its base to Amaravati so that it would be closer to people there. But Jagan did not relent.
Finally, wise sense prevailed upon the YSRC chief. He is learnt to have told that he wanted to shift the headquarters from Lotus Pond to Amaravati.
The party has a piece of land at Mangalagiri, where he wants to construct a brand new building for the party headquarters. The construction is expected to start in November and might be completed within four or five months, say the party sources.
