Jagan, Naidu Try To Conquer Each Other's Bastion

It looks like Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy are trying to outwit each other in their opposite strongholds in Rayalaseema region.

While Naidu is focusing on strengthening the TDP in YSR Congress party bastions like Kurnool and Kadapa, Jagan is trying to break the TDP fortress in Anantapur district. It is evident from the latest tours of Naidu and Jagan in Kurnool and Anantapur respectively.

During his tour in Kurnool, in which the TDP got just a couple of seats in the 2014 elections, Naidu announced a number of sops for the people and the district.

He also made attempts to lure at least five YSR Congress party MLAs into the TDP, besides strengthening the local TDP units.

At the same time, Jagan has started touring in Anantapur and tried to win over the confidence of weavers by exploiting the recent suicide of a weaver along with his family members in Dharmavaram.

The YSR Congress president chose Dharmavaram to conduct Rythu Bharosa Yatra and interacted with the people, explaining them how Naidu had cheated them in the last 18 months.

It remains to be seen who will have the last laugh in Rayalaseema – Naidu or Jagan.
