Jagan Has This To Say About New Capital City

It is being widely believed that the new capital city will be developed in the Vijayawada-Guntur region.

Yet, AP Chief Minister Chandra Babu is dilly-dallying to make it look like he is keen on taking a public opinion before making the final move.

Meanwhile, opposition leader YS Jagan shared his opinions regarding the development of a new capital city on various national channels.

During conversation, Jagan suggested that the new capital must be developed where ever there is ample land.

He alleged that Chandra Babu was looking to develop the capital in a pre-designated area and called upon Chandra Babu to re-assess his plans.

“We are not against any particular place. But we want it to be accessible from all corners of the state. Ideally, it should be at a centrally located area. The location must have 6-km radius and development must be possible up to 6 km on all sides, as the new capital will have its own Secretariat, Assembly, High Court and other important buildings. If the capital city is 12 km long, then it must be feasible for development across 144 sq km. Now, if we convert the same into acres, then 30,000 acres will be required for the development of a new capital city. Babu must make his decisions based on statistics and ground reality,” opined Jagan.

Since it is more or less obvious that the new capital will be developed between Vijayawada-Guntur, Jagan is playing it safe by trying to make sure that he does not directly oppose the move.

However, as the leader of opposition, he is ensuring that he gives his suggestions. And what could be a better platform than national media?
