Jagan Against Bill On Special Status!

The YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is of the view that there is no use of introducing a bill on special status to Andhra Pradesh and the TDP is only trying to fool around the people by supporting it.

“As the special status was already assured in the Parliament, there is no need to table a special Bill on it as the UPA and BJP had unanimously agreed for it,” said senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana.

“We have assured full support to any resolution that would be tabled in August 2015 and in March 2016 as well and we will support anyone for the cause of special status,” he said.

The merger of some of the mandals from Telangana into Andhra Pradesh in wake of the submergence threat due to Polavaram project was done as per the assurance given during state reorganization but why was the special status issue not taken up so far, he said.

There is no need for a special Bill on special status as it was assured in the Parliament and a cabinet nod was there. TDP has been trying to keep issue bay but we will always be in the forefront in the fight to attain special status, he said.
