Telugu balladeer and social activist Arunodaya Vimala, popularly known as ‘Vimalakka’ is sure to give KCR’s daughter, Nizamabad MP and Telangna Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha a run for her money in the ongoing “Bathukamma season”.
A strong critic of KCR’s regime, Vimalakka planned a “Bahujana Bathukamma” across the state terming the Kavitha’s “Bathukamma” as “Corporate Bathukamma”, where there is no place for poor and downtrodden, for which the Bathukamma festival is actually meant for.
Vimalakka is angry that Kavita was using Bathukamma to gain political mileage at the cost of state exchequer.
She says Bajujana Bathukamma this year is aimed at instilling confidence among farmers who are distressed due to drought and indebtedness and committing suicides every day.
She alleges that father-daughter duo in the name of “Bathukamma” were spending Rs 10 crore public funds to meet their political ambitions and not for the welfare of people.
