It Was KVP Then, It's CM Ramesh Now

During Rajasekhara Reddy’s time, KVP Ramachandra Rao played a key role in running his government. Known to be media shy, KVP was nevertheless the mover and shaker who had many allegations against him.

There are serious allegations against him that he would take suitcases full of money to Delhi and take hoards of money from various contractors.

However, nothing was ever proved and he was reckoned as a close aide and personal friend of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

YSR acknowledged his services by making him the principal advisor. Apart from all this, KVP played a very important role in attracting leaders from other parties into the Congress party. Though he was never a media man, the Congress High Command also looked up to him with respect.

Now, TDP is in power and it’s the turn of CM Ramesh to play a similar role in the Chandra Babu Naidu government.

Like KVP, he is currently a member of Rajya Sabha, but he is said to be running the show from behind the scenes. Incidentally, both KVP and CM Ramesh belong to the same social community.

The only difference being that CM Ramesh quite enjoys being in the limelight. He has recently created quite a stir by claiming that many leaders were ready to defect into TDP. He is said to be good at playing mind games to pull in other party members.

Like mentioned before, where KVP went about his job silently, CM Ramesh clamours for media attention and constantly talks of morals and ethics. It won’t be surprising if he is made the special advisor to Chandra Babu Naidu in coming days.
