TRS senior leader and Minister T Harish Rao said that both the TDP and Congress parties are hiding their candidates as they do not have trust in them and fear that they may withdraw their nominations.
The TDP and Congress candidates fear that they might lose the elections and are rethinking on their contest while the party leaders are pressuring them to contest.
“How can people repose faith in such parties? The TDP shifted its candidates to Hyderabad,” Harish Rao pointed out.
He along with Kadiam Srihari, Etela Rajender and a host of leaders are camping in Hanamkonda at Captain V Laxmikantha Rao’s residence. They held a series of meetings with the rebel candidates and convinced them to withdraw in the interest of the party.
The Warangal Municipal Elections are scheduled for March 6. But Harish Rao might have got it wrong on the TDP shifting its candidates to Hyderabad. It is not the fear that they may withdraw their nominations, given the recent happenings in Telangana, the party wants to be absolutely sure that their flock stays together until the election is over.
It’s really sad in a way because the TDP cannot restrain its candidates even if they jump ship after winning. So, will such measure as shifting the contestants to Hyderabad yield any benefit?
