Guntur MP Jaydev Galla has said that Hyderabad was no benchmark for the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
He reiterated his party stand that their objective was to develop the new capital as the best in the country and one of the best in the world.
Galla said that they did not intend to look at cities like Delhi, Chandigarh and Hyderabad. Instead, they had set their eyes on world-class cities like Singapore, Barcelona, Copenhagen, etc, said Galla.
He clarified that the city would be so developed that it would be easily amenable for all.
The MP also disclosed that Singapore will soon give its master plan for the city and once that is done, the ground-breaking ceremony will be held within six months.
Finally, coming to the contentious issue of land pooling, Galla said that while 90 per cent of farmers were willing to give their lands voluntarily, his government was hoping that the others would agree to give their lands too.
