'Insecure' Mudragada Surfaces Again!

'Insecure' Mudragada Surfaces Again!

After remaining in oblivion for a few weeks, former minister and Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham was back into limelight on Sunday.

He has apparently realised that people might forget him, if he was not seen and heard for some more days. His sudden withdrawal of his proposed Deeksha brought him a bad name.

At the same, he also felt the ground slipping from under his feet, as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been wooing Kapu leaders like Sai Pratap and Jyothula Nehru into the Telugu Desam Party and organising Kapu conventions in the name of identifying the beneficiaries for scholarships and other welfare measures.

So, Mudragada chose to come out of the shell and make a public appearance. On Sunday, he attended the “Kapu Atmeeya Sabha” held at IV Palace, Vijayawada, which was attended by Kapu leaders from all political parties.

He clarified that he had withdrawn his agitation only after getting an assurance from the Chief Minister on resolving issues confronting the community.

“I was not sold out to anybody. And there is no leader in the State who had the guts to buy Mudragada,” he thundered.

He demanded that the government take steps to get the report from the Manjunatha Commission at the earliest, so that reservations for Kapus could be implemented.
