Which city is better – Hyderabad or Bangalore? Ask Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao; he says Hyderabad is much better than Bangalore. And he went a step ahead and said he did not want Hyderabad to become another Bangalore.
“Wipro chairman Azim Premji told me in a recent meeting that situation was bad in Bangalore and they wanted to establish their unit in Hyderabad. I want that Hyderabad should not become like Bangalore,” the Chief Minister said while launching the Swachh Hyderabad programme.
The CM said that the specialty of Hyderabad should be kept intact. He said that a traffic signal free system would be developed in the city soon with an expenditure of Rs 20,000 crores and this would bring lot of change in the city in the next three years.
He recalled the Surath experience, where the city was cleaned under the leadership of an officer SR Rao when plague hit the town. He also said that even Rio De Janeiro developed into a great city.
The CM said that with an intention to make the poor live with self-pride, government has come forward with two bedroom house programme.
He said that people of IDH colony, who were provided with those houses, were happy. He said that two lakh families of the city would be provided with the same in three to four years in a phased manner.
