How Can A Non-Local Become Minister In AP?

Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh, during the electioneering in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections last year, claimed that he was born and brought up in Hyderabad and hence, a local.

He also pointed out that in fact, Telangana Rashtra Samithi minister K T Rama Rao himself was a non-local for Hyderabad, as he was born elsewhere and had studied in Guntur and abroad. So, Lokesh claimed the support of the local Hyderabadis.

But now, Lokesh has become an MLC and later a minister in the Chandrababu Naidu cabinet in Andhra Pradesh.

“If Lokesh is a local Hyderabadi, how can he become a minister in the neighbouring state?” asked KTR in a public meeting at Jagitial, reacting to Lokesh becoming his counterpart in Andhra with Information Technology portfolio.

“It clearly shows who the real local is and who is working for Telangana. As a matter of fact, Lokesh's entry into the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet indicates that the Telangana TDP has been totally shut down,” he observed.

He pointed out that Naidu had run away to AP due to the setback the latter faced in Jagityal during Godavari Pushkarams.
