Guv Has No Control Over L&O In Hyd

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Tuesday claimed that the Central Government gave clear indications that it would not assign the control of Law and Order of Hyderabad to the Governor.

Addressing the meeting of Telangana Police Officers Association at the State Secretariat here, Narasimha Reddy said that the Telangana Government would have absolute control over the Law and Order in GHMC limits, the common capital area.

He looked confident that the Centre would not implement the clause of AP Reorganisation Act that empowers the Governor of controlling the Law and Order of common capital for a period of 10 years.

The Home Minister advised the police personnel to maintain friendly relationship with the people to improve their image.

Reacting to the demands made by the Association, he said district-level committees would be formed to address the issue of promotions and transfers and they would review the cases once in six months. Besides the modernisation of police force, the government was taking steps to fill the vacant posts.
