Gulabi Coolie Is Nothing But Corruption!

Telugu Desam Party legislator and working president of the party's Telangana unit A Revanth Reddy has exposed the alleged corruption in the fund raising campaign by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the name of “gulabi coolie” in April this year.

Revanth dashed off a letter to Anti-Corruption Bureau asking it to take action against IT minister KT Rama Rao, TRS MP K Kavitha and other ministers who raised money for the public meeting organised by TRS in Warangal in April by working as ‘Gulabi Labourers’ (Coolies).

In his complaint, Reddy recalled that KTR had raised Rs 7.5 lakh, T Harish Rao earned about Rs 8 lakh whereas MP Kavitha earned Rs 7 lakh. Likewise, some other ministers had raised money too.

“Many of these public servants, who took oath not to benefit anybody while discharging their official duties, collected money from organisations and persons which come under their regulatory control,” he said.

For instance, C Laxma Reddy collected money from a private hospital and P Srinivas Reddy took money from rice miller, he complained.

Hence, the TDP leader urged the authorities concerned to initiate suitable action against these public servants as per the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
