Group Rivalry In Telangana TDP?

Group Rivalry In Telangana TDP?

There hardly anybody left in the Telangana Telugu Desam Party now, as majority of them have shifted their loyalties to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Of the three MLAs, only Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy is active and the remaining two – Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and R Krishnaiah have been keeping away from party activities.

With regard to other party leaders, too, there are none who can make significant contribution to the growth of the party in the Telangana. Yet, the party leaders are divided into groups and indulging in a cold war as if they have very bright future ahead.

According to sources, many party leaders are disgruntled with the style of functioning of Revanth Reddy, who is not caring anybody in the party and adopting his own style.

There are allegations that he is not taking anybody into confidence before deciding the party programmes.

The other day, Revanth Reddy took part in the two-day fasting at Edigadda Kishtapur in support of villagers fighting against Mallannasgar project. He has not informed anybody in the party, including Telangana unit president L Ramana. This resulted in a lot of heartburn among Ramana and others, who kept away from the programme.

Naturally, this has led to groupism in the party, some supporting Revanth; others Ramana. The Revanth group is alleging that Ramana has become inactive and hence, the entire responsibility of reviving the party is being taken up by Revanth. And Naidu is least bothered about the party in Telangana!
