If the net worth of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is just a few lakhs as declared by his son Lokesh Naidu on Wednesday, then India’s so-called richest businessmen like Ambani and Adani should call themselves very poor.
This was the observation made by YSR Congress party spokesman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Thursday.
Pooh-poohing the declaration of assets by Naidu and his family members, he said they were only blowing their own trumpet with fudged figures amidst fanfare by their sycophants.
“Even a traffic constable can say how much wealth Naidu had amassed. What they declared was only the tip of the ice berg while the actual unaccounted amount lies locked away in the secret chambers,” he said.
He said the declaration of assets was only to gain sympathy from the people to show that Naidu and Lokesh were very ordinary and had no major assets. But what was shown has been only the door of the cave which houses the ill-gotten wealth from the cash for vote and other corrupt deals, he said.
He reminded that Tehelka website had earlier run a story giving details of the assets and corrupt practices of Chandrababu Naidu and named him as the richest as well as corrupt Chief Minister.
“These periodical declaration of assets is only to divert the attention from the serious affairs of the state,” he said.
