If the reports doing rounds in the media circles are to be believed, revolutionary singer Gaddar is planning to float a new political outfit to take on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the next assembly elections.
All these days, the talk has been about whether Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram would float a new party, as he has taken up cudgels against chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the TRS for ignoring the real issues of the people. But suddenly, Gaddar is learnt to have expressed his plans to launch a new political outfit ‘’Tyagala Telangana Party.”
He has already started interacting with a cross section of people to mobilise support for the new party. He is learnt to have told his friends that the people are disgusted with the two-and-a-half years of the TRS rule, which had failed to deliver the promised Bangaru Telangana.
In fact, Gaddar is more popular than Kodandaram in the Telangana movement and people still remember how he galvanised millions of people with his Dhoom Dham programmes. Once he gets into the people, there would be more support for him. Especially, he has a lot of following among the weaker sections and hence, he expects to win over them.
It remains to be seen whether Kodandaram would join hands with Gaddar in the new political outfit and if it happens, it would be a powerful political force in the coming days.
The only problem is lack of financial resources but sources say if there is an effective political alternative to the TRS, flow of funds might not be a problem.
