Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh minister for Information Technology Nara Lokesh, who has just made his entry into administrative politics, is slowly learning the art of articulation in public speeches, overcoming his initial fumbling.
On Tuesday, Lokesh made some interesting comments while interacting with people in East Godavari district.
He said he had preferred Panchayat Raj and Rural Development portfolio, instead of Urban Development, because he was interested in developing villages.
“In my view, a village is like a mother, who always tries to give something to the people living there. But, a city is like a girlfriend, who always expect something from us for growth,” he said.
He also chose the occasion to attack Sakshi Telugu daily promoted by Y S Jaganmonan Reddy, albeit indirectly.
Expressing anger over the daily for writing negative stories on him, Lokesh asked the people not to read such fake newspapers.
“We know smoking is injurious to health. But reading this bogus newspaper is more dangerous than smoking. It is trying to create a wedge between the leaders of Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra,” he said.
