In Telangana, YSRCP has its presence in just one district. It has 1 MP and three MLAs from Khammam, but all the MLAs are already in touch with the ruling party.
While one of them has already joined TRS, another MLA is still contemplating his move.
On the other hand, MLA Taati Venkateswarlu has made it clear that he will not leave YSRCP.
Recently, during an event organized by the Andhra Pradesh officials in the 7 districts under the submerged area, Taati raised the Jai Telangana slogan which ended up becoming controversial.
He further went on to argue that though he was a Telangana MLA, since some of the districts that voted him to power were in Andhra Pradesh, he must be allowed to represent Andhra Pradesh too. Also, he has made it clear that he will not quit YSRCP to join TRS.
He maintains that his party cadre worked together to help him win and that he would not disappoint them by jumping parties. But it has to be remembered that such dialogues are very common in politics.
Meanwhile, TRS is going all out with its operation Akarsh. Congress is already in doldrums and BJP was no exception. Now, YSRCP leaders are also contemplating a move.
So, it remains to be seen for how long Taati will stand by his word and stop himself from jumping into TRS.
