Stating that one lakh acres will be acquired for the construction of the new capital city, TDP MP Galla Jaydev said that 30,000 acres would be acquired as part of phase one.
Responding to the contention of the allegation that a small area would be sufficient to house the various administrative blocks of the government, Jaydev said, “A mere administrative capital city will become a burden on the exchequer. It will be difficult to attract investments from multinational companies.”
This is absolutely ridiculous logic by Galla Jaydev.
Take for example, Singapore itself! Singapore, Chandrababu’s favorite country is also partner in the construction of a new capital for AP. It is a developed country. Did investments to Singapore dry up because it does not have one lakh acres?
What is the size of Singapore compared to AP and did this factor prevent that nation from emerging as an economic powerhouse?
Foreigners don’t invest looking at the area available! They look for a conducive working environment, a thriving market and sops and incentives that would encourage their businesses to thrive.
For example, the CEO of Toshiba will not say, “Let us invest in Siddipet. It has 2 lakh acres.”
One would have expected better sense from Jaydev given the fact that he is a businessman himself.
